Atlanta, GA – Sportech Racing and Digital, a division of Sportech PLC, (LSE: SPO), announced today that it will deliver a wide range of Sportech’s newest technologies for wagering to the patrons of the renowned Hawthorne Race Course in Stickney, Illinois.

In addition to supplying totalisator and related services over a 10-year period, Sportech will supply Hawthorne Race Course with a full suite of digital and land-based betting technologies, including the G4 Internet wagering framework, a new Digital Link™ mobile suite, and the new Sportech Kiosk for self-service account set-up, funding and cashing.  In addition, Hawthorne will be Sportech’s first North American customer to receive its next generation self-service wagering terminal.

Sportech will deliver to Hawthorne Race Course the industry’s most cutting edge products for pari-mutuel wagering, which will demonstrate Hawthorne Race Course's and Sportech's commitment to innovation that emphasizes the value of a winning consumer experience.  Highlighting this commitment will be Sportech’s new Digital Link™ mobile suite, with patented digital voucher functionality that not only delivers exceptional customer service and convenience, but also reduces the use of ticket paper for wagering on-track, thereby reducing the environmental impact of the betting operation.

Hawthorne Race Course President and General Manager, Tim Carey, said: "We at Hawthorne Race Course have worked with Sportech for decades so we have a long relationship, but we were also very impressed with their new technologies and with the design and technical details that make their new digital products so appealing.  We look to expand distribution of our account wagering services with the new Sportech Kiosk, and to deliver a better wagering experience for our players with the Digital Link™ mobile suite and the next generation self-service terminals."

Andrew Gaughan, President of Sportech Racing and Digital, added: “Hawthorne Race Course has selected the most innovative digital technologies from Sportech Racing and Digital, and we are confident that Sportech's integrated solution will give them a significant advantage in the competitive Illinois thoroughbred racing environment.”
